Vertical Illusions is proud to present the Midwest's 1st Snowshoe Zip Line Adventure!!

The conditions are perfect for your friends and family to participate in Vertical Illusions Snowshoe Zip Line Adventure. We received 21 inches of fresh snow over the weekend at Chimney Rock Park, and it’s perfect for a winter wonderland experience. We are running three private tours a day: 8am, 1pm, and the 5pm night lining experience.

VI Fall Color Tours

Hi Everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful summer! The weather was amazing and the Vertical Illusions team took full advantage of that to make it our best year ever kayaking, rock climbing and zip lining!!

A few years back we started on a mission at Chimney Rock Park to eliminate as many trails as we could for wildlife and eco preservation. Some of the animals we are caring for are the five lined skinks, brown skinks, flying squirrels and a few threated and endangered plants that we so far know about at Chimney.

To preserve this environment we developed a tree to tree canopy zip line tour through the park to minimize erosion and careful stepping and it was a great success. We had over a few hundred riders this summer and you would never be able to notice. Each tour was guided by a lead guide and a tail guide both knowledgable in ropes and rescue and also educated on the areas geology, plants and animals.

Vertical illusions is going to continue preserving Chimney Rock Park and we have decided to put in 4 more lines to take us back to the parking lot where we started. The first of the four lines is being put in now and its going to be longer, faster and more scenic.

As for this winter and winter vacation start planning now a trip with us. We got the permission from our certification company to stay open year around. We will be snowshoeing to the top of Chimney Rock Park where we will then Zip Line down through the snowy tree top canopy. It has only been done as we know in Whistler Canada. So it should add a fun attraction to this winter in the Midwest.

The snow is coming and we will be bringing in our Jackets, Hats, Gloves, Snowboards and Skis. So please keep in touch and remember us for Zip Lining, Ice Climbing, Snowshoe and X-Country Ski tours and rentals. We want to be here for you :)

Vertical Illusions- Eco Zip Line Canopy Tour

Its Completed!!! Come to Vertical Illusions and ride our new Zip Line Eco Canopy Tour at Chimney Rock Park. This adventure is simply a blast. It's a short hike to the top of the Park 500 feet up. The zip line consists of 8 zips and platforms mounted high up in old growth trees and then headed down the mountain. Chimney Rock Park is a nature preserve so the animals you can see are flying squirrels, black squirrels, lizards, foxes, and a few different endangered plants that we can point out along the trip.

This environmental trip was designed to impress great legendary locals like John Muir, Gaylord Nelson, and Aldo Leopold.

Merry Christmas at Vertical Illusions

Hi Everyone and Merry Christmas,

Whats New!

This winter at VI we are now offering demo ski and snowboard rentals for all the area ski hills. We have a traveling vehicle that can meet you at your hotel or resort room and get you fitted. So you will not have to worry about the long waits at ski hills. We will continue offering snowshoe and cross country ski rentals for Devils Lake and Mirror Lake State Park as well. The trails at Mirror Lake are some of the best in the state; so if you haven't ever skied them try them out this winter and you will sure find a new winter hobby to enjoy.

Each year we also keep finding new and better places to snowshoe in the Dells area. We have an extensive list of beautiful places to wander. So after a good snowfall come to VI to rent or purchase a pair of shoes and have some fun in the amazing beauty of the Wisconsin outdoors.

Next summer!

Next summer remember to get signed up early for our new Canopy Tour of Chimney Rock Park. We have an agreement worked with the Park to build a canopy tour (Zip Line) to fully enjoy the park and preserve its beauty. The park is home to many endangered species. There are lizards, flying squirrels and a variety of endangered firns. The Zip Line will connect Sunrise, Midday and Sunset Cliffs. Zip climbing tours will also be available to offer more cliimbing and less time hiking from cliff to cliff.

What is happening Today

The newest winter clothing (North Face, Grenade, Special Blend, Four Square, Helly Hansen, Patagonia..), skis, snowboards, cross country equipment and snowshoes are in! We have new snowboard packages (boots, board and bindings) starting at $260, snowshoes starting at $120 and demo cross country skis and snowshoes available.

We also have Christmas Trees! Vertical Illusions has teamed up with area churches to sell Christmas Trees for Church mission trips. The money raised for this fundraiser is going towards an adult trip to Saipan in February. The mission will be to work on a broadcasting site and tower that transmits Christian Radio to Asian countrys that do not have the opportunity to get the word. So if you are in the area and needing a real tree please stop on by we can also help to deliver or set it up!

Vertical Illusions Summer Trip Information

Now is the time to plan your summer get away to Wisconsin Dells and take a few days
off for some fun outdoor recreation. Vertical Illusions offers some of the best

increase your comfort level on the rocks at Chimney Park. Choose from many

Rock Climbing on Sunset Bluff at Chimney Rock Park. We have added 40 acres to
Chimney Rock Park and Sunrise Bluff to make the park 80 acres. There is now over
100 new climbs for you to enjoy.

Kayak through the Lower Dells and tour the Rocky Islands. One of the most
photographed scenic views in the Dells and some of the best caves to explore. Or
learn to Roll. Our guides are some of the best paddlers around that we know. Every
paddle guide has gone through advanced training to learn paddling skills that they
will share with you.

On nice days take an evening Sunset Tour as well. These trips are only available on
beautiful evenings.

Dells Riverfest Thank you!

Thank you to all who could attend the Dells First Annual Riverfest this past beautiful Saturday put on by the Dells Stewards.

The event was a large success. The kayak competition had over 30 paddlers competing for gold in 5 events; while 5 universities competed for gold in 8 events. Guests and teams came from over eight hours away to join in the fun, enjoy the scenic views of the beautiful Dells and leave no food to waste. Also two Universities stated that this was the best regatta that they have ever attended.

One of the greatest parts of the festival was to see the paddlers excitement to support the mission of the Dells Stewards and their preservation efforts in keeping their race course beautiful and worthy of future world class rowing status.

Planning for the next has already begun and were looking at bringing in a few more college teams to compete. We are also promoting Pat Anderson who was our weather chairperson for her excellent job and bringing the beautiful weather back again for the next.

WISCONSIN DELLS RIVERFEST- APRIL 18TH- SATURDAY-

-Dells Riverfest Saturday-

This weekend April 18th is the Wisconsin Dells First Annual "Riverfest Regatta" sponsored by the Dells Stewards. There will be 5 Universities competing for Gold in 8 events. The teams are Northern Michigan University, St. Norberts, Lawrence University, Marquette University and Milwaukee School of Engineering. This will be a landmark event competing on one of the most beautiful stretches of river in the "World." Bring your camera!

Kicking off the event in the morning from 9 to 11AM will be a citizens kayak race . There are 30 currently registered and more signing up as this letter is wrote. This race is for anyone so grab your paddle and bring your boat. The Riverfest site is:

The kayak race will be followed by the collegiate regatta starting at 11AM. There will be fun for everyone including, Upper Dells Boat Trips, kayak vendors and clinics, breakfast and lunch will be served and music through out the evening.

Welcome to VI Adventure Newsletter # IV

This is our 4th year in business and we thank you for being a part of Vertical Illusions success and promoting an eco friendly and conscious lifestyle to over 3400 successful adventure trips.

This past year we have established Vertical Illusions on the "Four Corners" Hwy 12 and 16 in Wisconsin Dells. We renovated an old A&W into a Modern 5 Star Adventure Center. Its one of the first in the country. Its our new home and the sticker on our window reads, "no shoes, no shirt, no problem." So stop by anytime, it doesn't matter what you look like or where you came from. Were always up for a good time!

There will be kayak clinics free of charge and a lot of other fun activities to take part in.

"Chimney Rock Park Climbing:

We have added on to Chimney Rock Park. It now has twice as much climbing and we have opened up a whole new area to instruct top rope certifications, sport and trad climbing. Bring your family and friends out this summer, grill out and try out our new area to be climbed. Guaranteed to be a good time!

Also congratulations to Local Alex Johnson for winning the Rock Climbing World Cup in Vail, Colorado.

"Kayaking the Dells:

This year we have added advanced tours to our list of recreation fun activities. We now can take you anywhere anytime and you will have an experienced guide to show you around, teach you how to roll, perform a wet entry, play campfire music, cook some great food, and show you how good you look in a skirt :)

"Road Bike Tours:

Tour De Wisconsin on a Bianchi this summer. We are looking forward to becoming a test center for Bianchi Bikes. Wisconsin Dells area has some of the best road biking in the state. No need to bring your bike to the Dells, now you can just rent the best from us.

If road biking isn't going to cut it for you and you need to go more extreme, ask our staff about our private bike park. Just fill out a waiver pay the park fee and ride yourself down some extreme dh trails.
